Big fish: summer assignment
Activity#1: story time
From watching the movie, I learned that Jenny Hill is 10 years younger than Edward Bloom, and that she was also the witch, I also learned that the death of Edward was only made up by William. The scenes that really stood out for me was, with the snake and the mermaid, Will saw the stick as a snake and the mermaid as a woman, also at the funeral, Edward's friends were all " normal " but when he tells the stories, there seems to be something more to his friends and his life. I think that the moral lesson of the movie is that we should dream big, live an extraordinary life, be kind, and work hard for what you want, just like Edward did when he was gathering clues to find Sandra. The significance of the " big fish" is that, it's how Edward got the ring in the beginning, he caught the big fish, and in the end of the movie Edward took out a ring from his mouth and gives it to his wife, then he turned into a big fish. Understanding the storyline helps you get into character by, knowing how to react to a specific scene, and by being able to put yourself into a character's shoes.
